This model is equipped with the Cartier calibre 049, a self-winding mechanical movement. In additional to hour and minute display, it features center seconds with hacking, which stops the movement when setting the time, and date display at 4:30 with quickset function, which allows the date to be advanced without stopping the movement. These features maximize both accuracy and convenience. This rhodium-plated 21 jewel movement operates at 28,800 beats per hour (4 hertz), and has a power reserve of 44 hours.
